At TRS Group, safety is our top priority and we are proud of our excellent safety record. Safety is emphasized throughout our corporate and project management philosophy. It is also priority #1 in our approach to field operations and training programs.
To that end, TRS has developed a comprehensive Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program (compliant with 29 CFR 1910.120) that serves as the backbone of our overall safety program. Our BBS program continually reinforces our goal to "Work Safer Every Day" in every facet of our operations. TRS also ensures that all of our subcontractors share the same top-priority focus on safety through the use of extensive subcontractor safety screening, followed by continual training and monitoring of all activities in the field.
TRS defines our BBS program as the examination of the approach to, and execution of, all project work tasks to recognize the associated risks and behaviors that may increase the probability of personal injury, property damage, or reduced productivity. The primary goal of our BBS program is to prevent workplace incidents resulting in personal injury, property damage, and environmental releases. TRS BBS provides the opportunity to review work processes and procedures that could potentially contribute to incidents and identify necessary improvements to reduce risks and hazards associated with a particular activity. In addition, our BBS program provides the tools to thoroughly review near-misses and incidents and examine the human behaviors that may have led to these events.
As the industry leader in applying ERH, TRS stands at the forefront in addressing the safety concerns uniquely inherent to the technology and to subsurface heating. The high volume and variety of ERH applications we have performed to date has provided us with opportunities to observe and mitigate potential safety issues and further develop safe operating procedures that have become the standard in our industry. TRS staff engineers were the first to understand and resolve surface voltage issues at a site, enabling routine safe performance of ERH in public areas, occupied buildings, and active right-of-ways.
TRS also maintains a continuing improvement process that includes routine review of standard operating procedures (SOPs), implementation of site and task specific activity hazard analyses (AHAs), and periodic site reviews focused on health, safety, and quality. As an extension of our site safety efforts, TRS adheres to safety-focused hot soil and groundwater sampling protocols to allow quality samples to be collected with confidence and without exposing site personnel to steam or other site-specific hazards. Our sampling protocols have been accepted by regulators in all 25 states and 10 EPA regions where TRS ERH has been performed. To promote industry safety, we have shared these protocols with our clients, regulators, and other in situ thermal remediation providers.
